As Boom Town Breckenridge approached the year 1900, the Briar Rose mine atop Peak 10 was turning out not only copious silver ore but huge appetites of the hungry miners working there. They would descend the mountain and gather at their boarding house on Lincoln Ave. for some favorable fare and a whiskey or two. The boarding house became known for good food and drink in a warm atmosphere. Today the Briar Rose Chophouse & Saloon keeps the legend alive, serving the finest aged beef and fresh wild game. With a bar dating from 1883 it is the perfect destination to mix our old-west heritage and modern day appetites!
